brownie pie

Remember when I posted those photos a few days ago playing in the sun.  Well now it has been raining for 2 days and 33*.  Best weather ever, said no one.

Anyway a few weeks ago when we had really cold temps with snow instead of rain I made a Brownie Pie.  It is basically brownies but since I made it in a pie plate we can get all fancy and call it brownie pie.  I may have posted this before but it is worth posting again.

I'm sure you have everything you need to make this here dessert so make it tonight and eat it while you watch the ice/snow fall.

2 cups of eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 salt

Preheat oven to 350*
Beat eggs, blend in sugar & butter.
Combine flour, cocoa & salt.
Add egg mixture.
Stir in vanilla.
Bake 25-30 minutes

We had some beautiful weather here over the past weekend.  What better way to enjoy than with lots of time outside soaking up the Vitamin D!

Yeah, no one had fun.

Claire has decided to train Dutch to play fetch and now she is trying to get him to do tug of war.

She won!

Friday Favorite - Milk Trays

This week my favorite is the Sensible Lines Breast Milk Freezing Tray.  I use these every week so I think they qualify as a favorite.  These obviously won't appeal to everyone but if you have a need for breast milk storage these might be worth looking into.  I love that each stick is 1 oz so you can easily thaw out the amount of milk needed.

Now that Dutch is (reluctantly) eating solids I use them to freeze baby food.  After freezing just pop out and store in a freezer bag.

I bought my trays at the hospital where Dutch was born but you can find them online here.

Happy Friday frands.  This morning I locked my keys inside the house so Dutch and I had to hang out in the cold while we waited for Eric to come save us.  I tried to cover Dutch's ears with my gloves but he didn't really go for that! ha.

Karen's Sausage Balls

Last week during the snow/ice there wasn't much to do besides play with Dutch and cook.  One of the treats I made were Sausage Balls.  One of my best friend's mom use to make these for us when we were in high school.  Every time I make them, I always think about the fun times back in the day.

Below is my favorite sausage ball recipe, best part is you don't have to precook your sausage!  Oh and I didn't put cheese in these but they were still tasty.

Karen's Sausage Balls
2 cups Bisquick
1 lb sausage
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup water

Mix all together into small balls.  Bake at 350* for 15 minutes until done.
