Giveaway!

Thanks for putting up with me all week going on and on about Better Homes & Gardens. This should be the last time I mention the BHG thing, maybe but I can't make any promises.
So I won't say anything about my friend Hannah's blog interview. She was the one behind my amazing paint art reenactment getting published in Ag Illustrated and herself is a graphic designer with a cute etsy shop.

For putting up with me all week I am going to give away 2
One year subscriptions to Better Homes & Gardens, the best magazine around. Just leave me a comment and if you want to tell me about your favorite Easter outfit that may be fun. I'll pick the winners at random Tuesday 8 am CST. BHG isn't sponsoring this giveaway, I am!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend. Did you get a new dress every Easter growing up? Ours were always made by my Nana or Mother. One time I had a dress made out of a Battenburg Lace table cloth. That thing weighed like 20 lbs. Of course I still have it along with pretty much every dress we ever had made.

I wish I had a picture of that tablecloth dress, but this is the only picture I could find of an old Easter dress. I wasn't too happy to get pictures that day. This was the best one out of the bunch.
It must have been the perm...

Ok now put these flowers next to your face and smile!

Haha, love your face in the pictures! I always had hand-me-downs from my sister but I distinctly remember that one year my mom let me wear a replica of an American Girl doll dress (maybe one of Kirsten's?) and I was pee-my-pants happy about it.

You know, I almost purchased a subscription last week. So glad I waited, maybe I will win.

I don't have a picture of it (well I do, but I can't find it), but I remember having this green dress with pink flowers and a white lace collar. It was the most ridiculous dress I have ever seen. Seriously! It looked like someone had taken some old curtains and made the dress just to torture me.

And as if that wasn't enough, my aunt also found the jumper set to match it and felt that I needed to have it as well.

We always had new Easter dresses, my favorite was an Alice in Wonderland dress -- I made my mom give me cookies to keep in the apron pockets, one to make me bigger and one to make me smaller.

Thanks for the giveaway! I have to say I felt pretty special when I got my magazine this week and "knew" the person on the last page :)

oh my gosh those pictures are hilarious! we definitely rocked the same perm in the day! you look so happy - just as i did with the frizz around my face. :)

i say you are allowed to go on and on about BH&G. it is a big honor and you deserved it! :)

I didn't have a perm but I might as well have-we did the whole sponge roller thing and it was basically a fro. With a beautiful handmade gown.
I really want to win this giveaway. My magazines keep me grounded and sane. They are a serious guilty pleasure.

We always had a new Easter dress when I was growing up. It was usually made by the grandmother or my mother. We were poor and did not get bought dresses very often. I guess the one I remember most was when I had Mono and had to stay home, but I wore my Easter dress anyway.

Hahaha your expression is priceless. I got a dress from Macy's this year. It has a grey seersucker skirt and a pink ruffled top. :)

I had some doozies. I really wish I could find the pictures. But what really got me was the expression on your face. It seemed that every year from about 9-16 either me or my sister gave that attitude in front of my grandparent's azaleas.

Love the photos of you. You look THRILLED! :-P Congrats on being featured in BHG. That is incredible.

My favorite Easter outfits were matching boy and girl clothes because I have a twin brother. Every year we would wear something that matched. :-)

We would get new dresses each year. They were so pretty when we were younger- pastels, lace, big white collars. And we had sponge curler fros. Lovely
